ANN ARBOR, MI: Clear Image Devices, (CiD) and Siemens Medical Solutions have reached an agreement to provide CiD’s DR Panel Protector to each of Siemens new YSIO imaging systems’ customers. Under this agreement Siemens will bundle CiD’s Digital Radiography Panel Protector with each of the YSIO systems sold, beginning in the first quarter of 2009.

The Siemens YSIO system uses the versatile wireless mobile detector (wi-DTM), letting radiology technologists bring the imaging source right to the patient. YSIO is very well suited to imaging patients in standing weight-bearing and non-weight-bearing postures, enabling virtually every type of examination without the need for supporting imaging systems.

The YSIO DR panel wireless detector can be placed on the floor with the Clear Image Devices DR Panel Protector placed over the panel while shooting weight-bearing x-ray images of the feet. Without the use of this device the patient would have to stand directly on the DR panel risking breakage of the very costly panel. The DR Panel Protector faceplate is made of unbreakable polycarbonate designed to support patients weighing up to 500 pounds. The device is x-ray lucent, allowing the x-rays to pass through the DR Panel Protector with no significant absorption or scattering.
